"An Instrument in Every Hand" seeks donations:

Do you have a band instrument collecting dust that could bring an Ankeny student the joy and benefit of music?  "An Instrument In Every Hand" is accepting donations of band instruments at any Ankeny school any time during school hours.  The program was started last year by AHS student Quinn Wilson, and has helped more than 50 students participate in the band program.  If you have any questions contact Vicky Anderson, vicky.anderson@ankenyschools.org.

Required Forms for Activities Participation
Iowa law requires that students in grades 7–12 who participate in extracurricular interscholastic activities, cheerleading and dance; and their parents/guardians; must sign an acknowledgment form regarding concussion information and return it to their school prior to participation.  Students must also have an athletic pre-participation physical examination.  Students cannot practice or compete in those activities until these forms are signed and returned.  You can find the forms here, and you can find important information from Iowa Code Section 280.13C, Brain Injury Policies here

Community residents age 65 or older are reminded they are eligible for a free activity pass to Ankeny Schools home events.  Passes are honored at all Ankeny home events except for sectional, district and regional playoffs sponsored by State Associations.  If you are eligible for a pass but have not received one, please visit Beth Rasmussen at the district administration office at 306 SW School Street.   If you have questions about the pass, please call 289-3920.
