Northview and Southview 9th Grade Formal
All 9th graders from Northview and Southview are invited to the 9th grade formal on April 24 from 7:00-9:00 pm in the Northview East Gym. Please enter through the doors on the south side of the school.  Tickets are $5 and will be on sale from April 20-24 during 9th grade lunch.  Come for dancing, food, games, prizes and fun! Those attending must be a Northview or Southview student and have their student ID.


Eat at Buffalo Wild Wings and Support Ankeny Athletics
The Ankeny Booster Club is sponsoring two fundraising nights this month at Buffalo Wild Wings.  Show your support by having a great meal while raising money for Ankeny schools' athletics and facilities.
  • April 13 and April 27, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
The restaurant will donate 10% of all pre-tax food sales from guests who present a fundraising ticket. For more information about the Ankeny Booster Club visit www.ankenyboosters.com.
Art Center to Display Student Artwork
Ankeny students will have the opportunity to showcase their artistic creations during the Annual K-12 Art Show at the Ankeny Art Center this month.  The work on display will represent artists from all 16 of Ankeny's schools.  Read more about the art show and artist receptions.

Board to Approve School Calendar at April 20 Meeting

The Ankeny Board of Education will vote on a 2015-2016 school calendar at their Monday, April 20 regular meeting.  After the state sent legislation regarding the school start date to the Governor on March 31, the Board reviewed several options for the calendar at their next regular meeting, held April 6.  They could not, however, approve the calendar at that meeting, as there is a requirement to first hold a public hearing, which was scheduled for April 20. 

“Metro school districts have been considering the day of the week on which to start, especially for younger students, as well as the length of winter break and other factors that affect the end date of school,” said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Bruce A. Kimpston.  “The Board will be voting Monday and a calendar will be posted as soon afterward as possible.”


Reminder: Classes to be in session April 24; snow make-up day
Due to classes being cancelled for inclement weather on January 7, Ankeny Schools will use the April 24 “Built in Snow Day” shown on the district calendar to make up the missed day.  Instead of being a day off from school, regular classes will be in session and students will attend school on Friday, April 24.
Second semester 12-week reports now online for grades 6-12:
Ankeny secondary schools' second semester 12-week midterm grade reports are now available in Infinite Campus.  Midterm report cards are not sent via mail.  No paper reports are sent until the end of the semester.  Parents and guardians may view midterm grades via Infinite Campus.  If you do not have an account set up in Infinite Campus, please click here for more information.
