The I Have a Plan Iowa website is a great resource for students as they begin to explore possible careers and plan for their future. All 8^th and 9^th grade students are required to complete the Iowa Guideways using the I Have a Plan Iowa website (http://www.ihaveaplaniowa.gov) before the end of the year. Students should have a working account. Please see the attached documents to assist in completing the online process. (Username and Password information is included in the instructional attachments.) Majority of students will be leaving Northview at 11:24 on Tuesday, May 22. Parents please pick up and have arrangements made for your student for the remainder of the day.

 

Students may choose to stay for lunch at Northview. Students who ride the bus must stay on campus until the busses arrive at 3:35.

 

All students who leave campus are asked to stay off of other school building properties Tuesday afternoon.

As the end of the year approaches, if we have been keeping medication for your student in the nurse’s office we request that you stop by sometime during school hours to pick up your student’s remaining medication. Any incoming students in grades 6-12 who are interested in attempting to test out of their current math course are welcome to attend the secondary math acceleration opportunities listed below. Deadline for registration is July 9:

Congratulations to all who participated in the 2nd-Annual Ankeny Get Up and Get Fit 5k/1 mile fun run and Health Fair on Sunday May 6.  The event was an excellent opportunity to get out and enjoy a day of exercise as a family!  Results of the fun run can be found at the links below. 

Five Ankeny students attended the first Iowa Youth Institute on April 30 at Iowa State University.  The institute was hosted by the World Food Prize Foundation and drew students from across Iowa who are interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, otherwise known as STEM.  The students invited were Brea Young, Kelly Behrens, Richelle Manuel, Sierra Lucht and Kailee Pierson.
